
I tried once to make homemade frosting without a recipe, and I failed miserably. It came out more like butter. Sugary, sugary butter.
Seven Minute Frosting
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 ts cream of tartar
pinch of salt
2 eggwhites (lg eggs)
1/4 cup cold water
2 ts vanilla extract
-Put all ingredients except vanilla in top of double boiler or heatproof bowl.
-Place over simmering water over low heat.
-Beat rapidly 5 to 7 minutes until stiff peaks form.
-Remove from water and beat in vanilla.
-Cool 1 or 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
